Ken Burridge is the founder, majority owner and Editor-in-Chief of EV.com

Kenneth Burridge at Walk Against Warming event in Brisbane, Australia.

As a youth Kenneth D. Burridge became intrigued by an old faded newspaper clipping on his grandparent’s wall in Harrisburg Pennsylvania about his uncle (Michael D. Burridge) that had as part of the caption “local scientist invents first electric mini-car”, which he accomplished as part of a GE (General Electric) contract feasibility study for the US military.

At his father’s urging Kenneth built and raced a series of Soapbox derby racers during his early teenaged years where besides becoming proficient at basic automotive design, carpentry, fiberglass and automobile body repair. He became interested in aerodynamics and airfoil efficiency and started experimenting with his own designs. One successful design in particular became the foundation for his promising “Back-kick” technology, which could revolutionize not only the automotive industry but many facets of the transportation and recreational sport industries as well.

While earning a Bachelor of Science degree from Old Dominion University Mr Burridge became aware and concerned about rising global CO2 levels as “being part of the world’s largest science experiment ever undertaken by mankind”. While attending university he also acquired his flight instructor’s rating and embarked upon an aviation career that culminated with becoming “Captain qualified” with an Airline Transport rating and flying wide-body jets internationally for more than a decade.

Mr Burridge currently resides in Brisbane Australia where he is an active advocate for the mass adoption of electric cars and climate change mitigation. Kenneth also serves as Editor-in-Chief of EV.com and other internet domains, mostly writing and overseeing the syndicated publication of 100′s of articles pertaining to Electric Vehicles and green living.
