Toyota Motor Corporation makes EV’s top list for producing the Toyota RAV4 EV and the Toyota Prius Hybrid.
Toyota Produced 1,485 RAV4 EVs (1997-2003) the all-electric version of their popular RAV4 SUV that were leased and/or sold in California to meet the state’s mandate for Zero-Emission vehicles. In addition unlike GM they did not crush and destroy ALL of their EV’s once the California mandate for Zero-Emission vehicles was lifted.
The Prius is the world’s first mass-produced hybrid vehicle and has so far sold over 2 million Prii in 70 countries. The Prius first went on sale in Japan in 1997 and is currently on it’s third generation.
