For those living in the USA, now is the time to contact (call, fax or email) your senators to tell them that you support the revised comprehensive climate legislation that is currently being produced by Senator John Kerry. “People need to make sure that their senator doesn’t give in to the wishes of big oil and coal that have had their lobbyist working overtime during this critical juncture”, says Ken Burridge of EV.com. The suggested time to start contacting your senator is March 1st, and to keep vigilant of the situation until the bill is passed.

Make sure to mention that you support creating millions of new manufacturing and construction jobs that would increase US energy efficiency, reduce pollution and dependence on foreign oil, which currently costs the country over a billion USD a day. That (repeated for emphasis) billion+ dollars per day could be better spent domestically building new infrastructure that assists in the adaptation of hybrid and electric cars and/or developing sustainable sources of energy such as: solar, wind, wave, hydro, and geothermal energy etc. Also call attention to the fact that you support efforts to mitigate climate change at whatever greenhouse gas and CO2 limits the majority of climate scientists agree is necessary to advert a global climate crisis.
