Why is EV.com Trying To Help Save The Peregian Originals?

EV.com supports the preservation of the environment, culture and lifestyle of those living on the coasts that are the most threatened by rising ocean levels caused by global warming.

The “beach” community and “surf” culture in general have always been strong allies in this endeavor. Just take a few minutes sometime to talk with any random surfer or someone that lives within sight of the ocean and you will have no doubt found one of the most passionate earth-friendly supporters on the planet.

We here at EV.com believe everyone should “Think globally and act locally” in this case: The Peregian Beach Surf Club, the local community Farmers Market, and the Peregian Originals are very much an integrated part of the Sunshine Coast community/culture, each of which contribute significantly  to the positive list of lifestyle choices of why people live in that area even though the beautiful beaches and deep-fried Mars Bars from the Wahoo Seafood Cafe might be enough for some people (smile)!

It doesn’t require climate change or a leaking oil tanker off their coast to threaten a way of life for those living there, just a Sunshine Coast Council member or two and a few disgruntled residents that might wish to stop a regularly scheduled free outdoor concert.

not only because losing that venue for emerging artists would be a tragedy, since art and music often help lead social change (and EV.com is all about that as well), but also because our  leader Ken Burridge has attended these concerts on several occasions in the past (he even has Peregian Originals photos in his Facebook gallery)

and these concerts have been proclaimed by him to be “a good thing” and a “worthy experience”!

Peregian Originals is a free open air concert that celebrates original live music and brings the Sunshine Coast community together. These events are held on 1st and 3rd Sundays in the park located between the Peregian Surf Club and the beach.

Peregian Beach is a small seaside town on the Sunshine Coast, in Queensland, Australia, at the southernmost point of the Noosa region. “Peregian” is an Aboriginal word for emu.
