Vectrix Electric Scooters Revived by Chinese EV Battery Company

Perhaps simply another victim of the worldwide financial crisis Vectrix Electrics has only now recently emerged from bankruptcy and finally appears to be slowly restarting operations as Vectrix International a new Delaware corporation, with US headquarters located in New Bedford, MA.  Their website has been reactivated, but all the data is dated from a time prior to the bankruptcy.  Up until that point the acceptance of their EVs (electric vehicles) in the market had been “terrific” according to the president of Vectrix at the time,  Michael J. Boyle.

The company had yet to become profitable and thus it didn’t have the financing to weather an economic storm of that size, especially when their network of 200+ dealers and customers suddenly found themselves with credit.

Sadly it’s taken half a year for another company (GP Batteries from China) to come forward to jumpstart Vectrix and allow them to finally begin to ship spare parts and some finished products to their waiting customers that have been in limbo since September 2009.
