Book: Two Cents per Mile
Two Cents per Mile: Will President Obama Make it Happen WITH THE STROKE OF A PEN? by Nevres Cefo
According to the author (and the staff here at EV.com agree) that this “book is a valuable resource to anyone who wants to learn about clean, safe, and efficient alternatives to gasoline-powered motor vehicles.”.
After reading the 2009 Annual Energy Outlook by the U.S. Department of Energy the author was “surprised at how well 100% Electric Cars and Electric Vehicles Vehicles (EVs) addressed all of the topics” of concern in energy economy between now and 2030. This issues included: higher but uncertain world oil prices, growing concern about Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, and the shift in the transportation fleet to more efficient vehicles among others.
The report was fairly supportive of hybrid vehicles, but it did not address 100% electric cars at all. When compared to hybrids and standard cars, pure EVs are the most practical solution to growing energy and environmental problems. Engineer Nevres Cefo shows how Americans are being systematically misinformed and trapped with only one choice for their future transportation needs: the internal combustion engine and liquid fuels. The book offers an excellent solution to the negative effects associated with oil.

This is a great book advocating for pure electric vehicles. Each chapter ends with an interview of owners of the Toyota RAV4 SUV EVs still running today (after 12 years) on the original NiMH battery pack. Great pictures of actual RAV4 EVs. Author addresses why we are not all driving pure electric cars today: The Oil Industry’s business model: highly inefficient internal combustion engine and liquid fuel business that dominates our transportation choices. Oil companies pushing gas/oil, hydrogen, natural gas fuels b/c they control the infrastructure…with their monopoly and power over Congress, I bet the Nissan Leaf lasts a month… I hope not but I fear it!
Author ask Pres to exercise Eminent Domain over the NiMH battery patents that are still running the Toyota RAV4 EVs. These are most powerful traction batteries invented in US that will provide reliable, affordable transportation and alleviate our economic and environmental issues; proven technology past 10 years….
oops CHEVRON owns patents, guess that won’t be happening any time soon.
