Cadillac is preparing to begin production of the 2027 Escalade IQ later this year, with the all-electric flagship SUV set to enter assembly in December as the brand continues expanding its EV portfolio. While the 2027 model introduces only modest updates, it reflects Cadillac’s ongoing effort to streamline branding across its electric lineup while maintaining one of the longest-range luxury EVs currently on the market.

According to reports, regular production of both the standard Escalade IQ and extended-wheelbase Escalade IQL is scheduled to begin on December 7, 2026.

Cadillac prepares 2027 Escalade IQ production launch

Ahead of production, Cadillac dealers are expected to gain access to vehicle configuration tools beginning October 1, with order submissions scheduled to open later that month.

The 2027 model year brings relatively minor changes compared to the Escalade IQ’s debut. The most notable update is the removal of Cadillac’s torque-based badging system, which has been used across the brand’s lineup since 2020, according to GM Authority.

The badges displayed vehicle torque figures rounded to the nearest 50 or 100 Newton-meters and were originally introduced as part of Cadillac’s broader naming strategy. Beginning with the 2027 model year, the company is eliminating the system across its portfolio in favor of simpler branding.

Otherwise, the Escalade IQ remains largely unchanged, continuing to serve as Cadillac’s flagship electric SUV and one of the most technologically advanced vehicles in the brand’s lineup.

The vehicle will continue to be produced at GM’s Factory Zero facility in Detroit, Michigan.

Escalade IQ remains a cornerstone of Cadillac’s EV strategy

Built on General Motors’ dedicated BT1 electric vehicle platform, the Escalade IQ combines the size and luxury expected of the Escalade nameplate with a high-performance electric powertrain.

The SUV features a dual-motor setup producing up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque in Velocity Max mode. Cadillac estimates the vehicle can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than five seconds despite its substantial size.

One of the Escalade IQ’s most significant advantages remains its driving range. Cadillac currently estimates up to 465 miles of range on a full charge, placing it among the longest-range electric SUVs available today.

The upcoming Escalade IQL will further expand the lineup by offering additional interior and cargo space for customers seeking a more spacious luxury EV.

As Cadillac continues its transition toward an increasingly electric future, the Escalade IQ remains one of the company’s most important halo products, showcasing the luxury brand’s latest advancements in battery technology, performance, and premium vehicle design.
