Dongfeng Nissan’s N7 Arrives With Adaptive Posture AI Core Algorithm And Interactive Lighting System In The Chinese EV Market

Dongfeng Nissan, the joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Group and Nissan, unveiled its latest electric vehicle (EV) model to compete in China’s competitive EV market: the N7, a sophisticated all-electric sedan that marks the company’s ambitious attempt to reverse its declining sales in the region.

Showcased at this week’s Guangzhou Auto Show, the N7 is the first EV built on Dongfeng Nissan’s new dedicated EV platform. The sleek N7 sedan measures 4,930 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width, and 1,487 mm in height, making it slightly larger than the Tesla Model 3.
With a wheelbase of 2,915 mm, the vehicle promises a spacious interior for family use. According to Dongfeng Nissan, the exterior design features Nissan’s signature V-Motion elements in the headlights and front bumpers while achieving a slippery drag coefficient of 0.208.
Technical innovations abound in the N7, including an advanced infotainment system powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8295P processor, containing 32GB of memory and 256GB of storage space. The EV introduces what Nissan claims is the industry’s first adaptive posture AI core algorithm, working in conjunction with an AI zero-pressure cloud blanket seat equipped with 49 sensors to automatically adjust for optimal comfort.
Partnering with Momenta, the N7 will feature an advanced driver-assist system called “Navigate on Autopilot.” The system includes high-speed navigation capabilities, city memory navigation, and comprehensive intelligent parking features.

The attention to detail extends to the EV’s lighting system, with 710 high-power LED light sources at the front and 882 OLED units at the rear, creating what Nissan describes as the only interactive light design of its kind in its class. The exterior design also incorporates frameless doors and concealed door handles for a modern aesthetic.
This launch comes at a crucial time for Nissan, whose sales in China fell 5.4% during the first nine months of 2024, following a dramatic 33% decline in 2023. The company aims to “redefine the new benchmark for China’s mainstream family pure electric sedans” with the N7, which is set to go on sale in the first half of 2025.

The N7 represents the first completely new electric model launched under “The Arc,” Nissan’s midterm plan for the Chinese market. Developed and produced in China, the EV combines local vehicle intelligence technology with Nissan’s manufacturing expertise to meet the demanding standards of Chinese buyers.
As automakers continue to face intense competition from brands like BYD in the world’s largest EV market, the success of the N7 could prove crucial for Nissan’s future in China. With its market launch expected next year, the N7 will be the latest addition to the Dongfeng Nissan joint venture lineup.
