Polestar 2 2025 Lineup Goes All-In On High Performance With Premium Model Shift

Polestar has made a significant change to its Model 2 electric vehicle (EV) lineup for 2025, eliminating both the Long Range RWD and Long Range AWD variants to offer exclusively the top-tier Performance Pack model.

Increased Pricing for the Premium Model

With a substantial price increase, the Polestar 2’s base price now starts at $66,200 including destination fees – a jump of more than $15,000 from previous entry-level models.

The 2025 Performance Pack model combines features from different model years, returning to the 2023 power output of 469 horsepower while maintaining the enhanced 546 pound-feet of torque introduced in 2024. The vehicle retains its dual-motor configuration with rear-drive bias and comes standard with previously optional features including the Climate, Performance, Plus, and Pilot packages.

Moreover, the streamlined model still offers impressive specifications, including a maximum range of 254 miles, a 0 to 60 mph time of four seconds, and charging speeds up to 205 kW.

Additionally, Polestar has joined Tesla’s Supercharger network, with current owners able to order NACS adapters through local dealerships and future models set to come equipped with NACS charging ports from the plant.

Upcoming Models in Focus

For Polestar’s broader strategy, the company is focusing on its upcoming models. These models are the Polestar 3, which will be produced in South Carolina, and the Polestar 4 performance coupe-crossover, set for production in South Korea. For budget-conscious buyers, the used market currently offers previous model year Polestar 2 sedans at significantly lower price points, with some models available for under $35,000.
